Become an HCR Artist

HCR is growing its artistic community.

Here’s how YOU can be a part of it and release your music with HCR.

Who can be an HCR artist?

• Artist/Ensembles that incorporate improvisation as a core portion of their music making.

• Artist/Ensembles who are interested in or planning a new release that is either a EP or album/LP.

• Artist/Ensembles who are emerging, mid-career, or established.

How does it work?

• HCR Artists retain ownership of their publishing, masters, and copyrights.

• HCR Artist agreement allows HCR to distribute your music digitally and physically, worldwide.

• Royalties are split with the artist at the center; Royalties are paid quarterly.

• Artists receive a portion of the Patreon proceeds for months surrounding their release.

• If printing physicals, artists cover all printing costs, price ranges depending on package design, quantity, and variable shipping rates (we recommend 4 panel eco-wallets, minimum).

• All releases are required to utilize a publicity campaign. If you have no preferred publicist, we will work together to build your campaign.

• Timelines for releases can vary. But it is our goal to find the best date for you, the label, and the team around your release.

How do I become an artist?

Send an email to submissions@hiddencinemarecords.com with the subject “Artist Submission - [Insert Name Here]” and detail your planned release with the following information:

• Introduce yourself and tell us a bit about your artist history: Who are you? Where are you based? What’s your performance/touring history like? Discography?, etc.

• Tell us about the music you want to release with HCR: What’s the music? What’s the group? What’s your current timeline? What stage of planning are you in? (Early Planning, Pre-Production, Post-Production, Release-Ready?)

• Please include a streamable link to your music and all other relevant links (websites, social media, etc.).

• Please include your contact information.
